Frequently asked questions

Why stainless steel instead of epoxy?

Perchloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and halogens quickly attack epoxy coatings. AISI 304 stainless steel provides long-term corrosion resistance under those conditions.

Suitable for perchloric acid?

Yes. The YR05820-SS is designed for perchloric acid digestions when combined with an appropriate acid-washdown ducting system.

External ducting needed?

Yes. It is a ducted hood — connect to a dedicated exhaust that discharges above the roof line.

Difference vs YR05808?

YR05808 is epoxy-coated steel for basic chemistry; YR05820-SS is full AISI 304 stainless steel for aggressive acids and reactive gases.
