Frequently asked questions

Which chemicals is the YR05808 designed for?

Basic-chemistry work with strong acids and alkalis (HCl, H2SO4, NaOH…) and common volatile solvents. For perchloric acid or hydrofluoric acid choose the stainless-steel YR05820-SS instead.

What is the difference between YR05808 and YR05812?

YR05808 is 1300 mm wide; YR05812 is 1800 mm wide. Both share the same construction, filtration path and 0.4-0.6 m/s face velocity range.

Does it require external ducting?

Yes. Both models are ducted fume hoods and must be connected to a dedicated exhaust duct discharging above the roof line.

How loud is the extraction?

≤ 60 dB at the operator position at maximum speed — quiet enough for continuous laboratory use.
