Frequently asked questions

Does it need external ducting?

Yes. Connect the top exhaust to a dedicated duct discharging above the roof or to an activated-carbon filtration cassette for filtered recirculation.

How is it different from the YR05820-SS?

YR05820-SS is a floor-standing hood (1200 mm wide); YR05810-SS is a compact bench-top (900 mm) with the same stainless-steel construction but lower footprint and extraction rate.

Is it suitable for perchloric acid?

For occasional use with proper duct washing, yes. For continuous perchloric digestions choose the larger YR05820-SS with a perchloric-rated ducting system.

How much space does it need?

Just 900 × 700 mm of bench surface plus 1350 mm vertical clearance for the sash and exhaust duct.
